DEVIL AND THE DEEP is the second book in The Deep Six Series by Julie Ann Walker about former Seals who now run a salvaging operation looking for sunken treasure. This one had me laughing so hard until I had tears running. Some of the phrases used and the conversations shared between the couples will have you rolling with laughter. Then of course the sexual heat and tension are sizzling which Julie Ann Walker always knows how to deliver. Along with the sexual heat there is also heart stopping action where lives are at risk. The phrase "once a Seal always a Seal" rings true when you see all of the action these guys deliver. This is a story that proves genetics does not define or make you into the person you become.

Madison "Maddy" Powers never forgot the sizzling kiss that Bran Pallidino gave her after rescuing her from a kidnapping attempt on her father's yacht. Once again Bran along with his teammate Mason will rescue Maddy along with her three teenage charges from a kidnapping attempt. What they assumed to be a kidnapping/ransom attempt turns out to be much more sinister with a devastating discovery. Even though there is no doubt about the chemistry between Maddy and Bran it's hard for Bran to see a possibility of anything lasting between them. Because of his family background it's hard for him to accept any possibility of his life being different from what his parents had. Maddy and Bran agreed to enjoy each other and afterwards they would be friends. They both later realize and admit that they want much more.

This is a story filled with humor and sizzling chemistry. Bran comes from a dark and devastating background. But with the help of Maddy and his Seal buddies he finally understands that his parents' background does not determine his future. I hope that the next story in Deep Six will be about Mason (with the one word answers) and Alex (the walking encyclopedia). As hilarious as DEVIL IN THE DEEP is I can't begin to imagine what Julie Ann Walker will do with Mason and Alex.
