Katie and Shane had been best friends since they met when Shane was fostered by Katie's aunt and uncle. They do a lot together and were soul mates. Until Rachel, Katie's college roommate came to visit. Goodbye Katie, Hello Rachel.
One thing lead to another and Rachel and Shane are soon married and started their little family. Shane was on active duty and Katie soon moved in to help out Rachel. But then Rachel was involved in a fatal accident and both Shane and Katie had a hard time dealing with this. Rachel left behind not only her husband but four children. Since Katie had spent most of her time helping Rachel, it was only natural that she would step in and help Shane.
Even though Shane and Katie had been soul mates, somehow they were not connected at all. A year goes by and Shane disappears for a night. Only Katie knew where he was. You see every year Rachel and Shane escape the kids and went to a hotel to be alone together. So Katie goes to the hotel finds Shane and after a few drinks, one thing lead to another. Months later what they did brings circumstances that neither one was expecting. Katie has always loved Shane but can she one more time UNBREAK HER HEART?
What a great story line. Nicole Jacquelyn writes with love and compassion. It was kind of weird how so much of this story was like my own life. I also had a guy that I had been seeing off and on for twelve years. Dick head as I now call him, and he used some of the same hurtful things that Shane used on Katie.
Like 'these are not your kids, so don't try and discipline them.' This really hurt because I was the one who paid for most of the things we did with them. Also, I have a nephew named Keller. Nicole Jacquelyn shows how being in a relationship can really be painful, yet great. These two people conquered all. Loved this book, can't wait to read the next one in this series.
So if you are looking for a book that you can sink your teeth into it -- UNBREAK MY HEART would be the one. Started and finished in one day. My kind of story.
