Thriller Psychological
Lily was kidnapped when she was 16 years old and grew
from teenager to an adult in a small basement prison in a
cabin. Her daughter Skye has never been outside. Then, one
day her Lily's captor leaves the deadbolt on the door
unlocked and they manage to escape. Now Lily must face
the world that she hasn't seen in eight years and Lily
must get used to living outside a small space. And, out
there is Lily's twin sister and mother. But, out there is
also her captor...
Wow, what a book! I was hooked from the start and read
the whole book during one day. I did read one or two
pages of the book some day before just to check and see
if it looked interesting and I found it so, but I had no
idea that when I started the book for real that it would
be so intriguing to read that I hardly could put down the
book.
What I especially like about the book was that there are
different point-of-views throughout the book which meant
that we got to follow each main character as the story
progressed. I felt that it worked very well with this
story since there are so many people involved and to
follow each of the character's moments made the story
richer.
It's a very very gripping and suspenseful story from the
moment Lily and Skye escape in the beginning of the book
until the end. Lily is, despite everything she has been
through a very strong person, but still it's hard to get
back to the world where so much have changed. For
instance, Wes, her then boyfriend is now expecting a
child with her sister and so much has changed with her
family. Not to mention the pressure of the press and the
fear of her captor going free.
BABY DOLL is a fantastic book with a thrilling and
fascinating story that will grip your heart and not let
go. The ending was unpredictable and truly surprised me
since I was expecting a different kind of ending. I loved
every page of the book and I recommend it warmly!
SUMMARY
You've been held captive in one room, mentally and
physically abused every day, since you were sixteen years old. Then, one night, you realize your captor has left the door
to your cell unlocked. For the first time in eight years, you're free. This is about what happens next ... Lily knows that she must bring the man who nearly ruined her
life to justice. But she never imagined that reconnecting
with her family would be just as difficult. Reclaiming her
relationship with her twin sister, her mother, and her high
school sweetheart, who is in love with her sister, may be
Lily's greatest challenge. After all they've been through,
can Lily and her family find their way back after this
life-altering trauma? Baby Doll is a taut psychological thriller
that focuses on family entanglements and the evil that can
hide behind a benign facade.
