Young and naΓ―ve Sacha Urusski is destroyed by the one man she loves and everyone else fears. Having been raised to respect the Bratva, Sacha also never planned to be a part of someone's ULTIMATE VENGEANCE.
Shortly after Alekzander Tarasov sent Sacha packing, he realized his mistake. He has been searching for her and will do whatever he must to win her back. Even grovel if need be, which will be hard for any member of a Russian mafia. But once Sacha's secret comes out will she suddenly become the villain in this game of hearts? Can they both forgive and forget the past or will all the secrets and lies destroy them once again?
ULTIMATE VENGEANCE will run you through a gambit of emotions then wring you out some more before you get to the end of this emotional storyline. I felt sorry for Sacha, angry with Alek, confused as to why his friend had to spill the secret when he did (especially when Sacha was about to tell it) and in awe of the sheer depth of feelings that were shared by this "family." The romance was very steamy but again the feelings zooming around in this book could be sweet, hot, touching or amazingly deep.
I have not read any of the other Wanted Men series by author Nancy Haviland, but I will be looking for the others now. There are a lot of twists to this book as vengeance is the key to one person's actions. But who is behind the troubles? Also, Ms. Haviland's somewhat colorful turn of everyday phrases: "his expression was blacker than a pit in hell" and "the thin skin below one of those windows to the soul" tickled me. I admit the second phrase took me a couple of minutes to figure out she was talking about the guy's eyes. These different phrases made the reading more interesting. I am always a sucker for "family" camaraderie and this book is chock full of guys having each other's backs. Then of course what is not to love about big, tough men going goofy over a baby? If you want an emotional, well -written, sweet and steamy ride then ULTIMATE VENGEANCE needs to be in your hands.
To a young Russian girl raised to respect and fear the
Bratva, gaining the attention of the impressive Sovietnik
from a ruling organization was a terrifying thing.
Alekzander was a dangerous temptation Sacha Urusski had no
hope of resisting. Predictably, her heart was decimated and
she was left bleedingβ¦with a precious reason to go on. But
when Alekzander bullies his way back into her quiet life and
offers a confession that absolves him of his sins, rather
than celebrate, Sacha is forced to acknowledge an alarming
truth; she has now become the villain in their story. Or so
she thinks. When the most damaging secret of all is
revealed, her final hope dies and sheβs left with no other
recourse. She must run.
Sixteen months ago, Alekzander Tarasov made the mistake of
his life when he annihilated his relationship with his
soulmate. At the time, protecting her was his only thought.
Now, after attempting to live without her, his focus has
changed. He wants her back where she belongs. And heβll stop
at nothing to drag his curvy angel away from her new life
and so deep into his world of violence and uncertainty
sheβll never find her way out again.
Through a deluge of secrets and lies, disillusionment and
broken faith enters a world where loyalty and trust reign.
Will Alek and Sachaβs battered love be strong enough to
survive? Or will it be a sense of duty that inexorably binds
them together in the end?
