DON'T LET GO is the sixth book in The Hope
Series by Jaci
Burton and I think my favorite so far. This was a favorite
because I love the way Jaci Burton portrayed the
vulnerability of Brady and how unsure he is in trusting his
feelings. In most novels the female characters
appear to be the vulnerable ones. I found it refreshing to
see the hero show some areas of confusion due
to misplaced guilt.
After the death of his brother Brady Conners reluctantly
returns to Hope, Oklahoma and finds work on custom motorcycles
until he can decide what he wants to do and where he wants to
be. Brady has so many feelings of guilt surrounding his
brother's death. He feels like he could have saved him if he
had been there. His feelings keep him at distance from
everyone -- including his parents. He's been
able to keep everyone at a distance until he encounters pastry
shop owner Megan Lee. Megan is drawn to the brooding Brady
and eventually finds him hard to resist. Brady has always
been a loner. But being
around Megan and the new friends he has made causes him to
panic when he starts to realize he has feelings for Megan and
starts thinking about settling down.
This is a great story about how tragically losing a loved one
makes a person seclude himself from others.
The beauty of the story is how one woman and a group of new
friends shows him that he can trust love to always be there.
In the latest novel from the New York Times
bestselling author of Love After All and the
Play-By-Play novels, running from the past isn’t nearly as
satisfying as facing the future…
Brady Conners is hardly the settling type, but when tragedy
strikes in his family, he has no choice but to return home
to Hope, Oklahoma. Setting up shop to work on custom
motorcycles and pass the time, Brady has no intention of
letting anyone get close—until he meets Megan.
Pastry shop owner Megan Lee is drawn to quiet, brooding
Brady. Their connection is undeniable, and it quickly
develops from physical attraction into something much
stronger. But with Brady putting up barriers, Megan is
afraid to truly open her heart—unless she can convince him
to let go of the past…
