Christ on a Ritz Cracker, y'all, THIS BOOK. It is trope- nip to me. Weddings/wedding planners, check. Second chances, check. Sassy heroine, check. Plus, clocking in at 100 pages, I read it in one sitting. Perfection for a quiet Saturday morning, with a cup of coffee in my hand and quiet in my house.
Leah is a wedding photographer whose career is growing by leaps and bounds. This is thanks, in no small part, to her connection to the hottest wedding planning business in town, adorably called Wedding Belles. When a last minute cancellation for a high profile wedding leaves Wedding Belles in the lurch, Leah saves the day by agreeing to step in last minute. One minor snag? The wedding is too big for one photographer and the only other available one that Wedding Belles trusts is Leah's sworn enemy/ex-boyfriend, Jason.
Jason, for the record, is not really over Leah. And Leah is definitely not over Jason. But they do a damn good job of letting their pain and frustration drive interactions. This is a second-chance story, with a dash of enemies-to- lovers thrown in. It's clear that these two are, in the eyes of everyone who knows them, perfect for each other. The other characters are well acquainted with the fireworks and have their own small hands in helping Leah and Jason realize that taking the leap towards a relationship is better than writhing in bitterness for the rest of their lives. As this book is the prequel to a forthcoming series, also called Wedding Belles, I cannot wait to get all of their stories!
FORM THIS DAY FORWARD is 100% recommended for anyone who likes stories about weddings, stories about people who are a really good at their jobs, relationships that are a tad explosive both in and out of bed, and introductions to new tribes of characters to get to know over the next few books.
