LOVE WALKS IN is the second book in The Shaughnessy Brothers
Series by Samantha Chase and is a wonderful well written story
about a family dealing and coping with losing the heart of
their family. Samantha Chase has a gift in writing stories
that center around families. This series shows how the death
of the mother effects each of the children. This particular
story shows how the deep effect of losing his mother
influenced how Hugh lived his life. My heart pained for the
adult Hugh carrying around all the teenage guilt for so long.
At seventeen Hugh was the usual teenager with rebellious
tendencies along with some wild ways. But at the death of his
mother his persona changed because of all the guilt he felt.
He began to live his life by a scheduled routine, never
deviating, never taking risks. All of that changed when he
saw a gorgeous pair of legs climbing through his office
window. Aubrey Burke is a run away bride attempting to
prevent a mistake because of a horrible decision she made.
These are two totally different personalities. Aubrey is
adventurous and likes to try new things. She likes to live
for the moment and have fun. Hugh likes routine and keeping to
a schedule. Aubrey had a difficult childhood and a distant
relationship with her parents.
Hugh and Aubrey both are living their lives based on issues
from their past. The emotional discussion that Hugh has with
his father will help him to finally come to terms with all the
guilt he has been carrying around for years. For the first
time ever Aubrey will have an open discussion with her mother
and will surprisingly learn the reasons behind the distance
between them. These remarkable discoveries will be what Hugh
and Aubrey need in order to bridge the gap that has come
between them.
This is a great story about dealing with guilt, living with an
uncertain future and finding a way to create your own future
when LOVE WALKS IN.
