Aiden DeHart is asked by Dustin Ross, a drug dealer he is working undercover to bust, to get a hard drive from his ex- wife. Aiden sees a chance to get the goods on Dustin and move on the person he really wants, Dustin's boss, Michael Evers.
Aiden approaches Madison, Dustin's ex, and promises to help her get rid of her ex if she will help him. Only Aiden had no clue the attraction between the hard charging roller derby girl Madison and himself would be so intense.
Only his desire for revenge against the man responsible for the death of his sister and her husband may be stronger than his desire for Madison. Well, probably not, the desire is overwhelming.
Aiden along with his team of drivers and misfits start an investigation into the hard drive and the information on it, while the whole time dealing with the their rivals in the 11th street gang. A crew who is coming after them hot and heavy because they blame Aiden for some of their cars and drugs being taken.
DRIVE is the first book I've read about street racers and their groups. You have two groups: one working with the feds even though they'd rather not and the other group true bad guys and gangsters.
Reading the descriptions of the races and car chases you can almost feel Madison's anxiety and Aiden's cool demeanor as he handles the car as an extension of himself. It's very exciting read, and the love scenes—oh my! They last quite a few pages. Sidney Bristol definitely has an eye for detail.
DRIVE by Sidney Bristol keeps you holding onto the "oh crap bar" as you root for the sexy racers and hot crazy roller derby girls.
