FULL CONTACT DECORATING is one of those books that plops you down into the middle of a world and expects you to know your way around. It doesn't really offer an intro or a road map to the world. As a novella, it may be that Robin Weaver expects that you read the previous novella and are completely up on this world.
All I do know is that I felt it took me far too long, especially for a novella, to have any idea what was going on, what the stakes were, and who was important to whom in this story. This dramatically affected my ability to enjoy the book, to root for the characters, and to be invested in their happily ever after.
All in all, FULL CONTACT DECORATING did not work on me. I'm sure it is lovely for others and for anyone who is invested in this wee world of Marryvale, I hope you enjoy this book - truly! No piece of creative endeavor can work on everyone and this one simply missed my sweet spots.
Katrina Snodgrass believes she can get her life back on
track. If she can regain her title as the Christmas Tree
Contest champion and re-snare the man of her dreams. Too bad
soap-opera star, Tripp Anthony, isn't interested--at least
he's indifferent until Hunter Montgomery arrives and
convinces Katrina she needs to make her former flame jealous.
The plan succeeds, but Katrina finds herself equally
attracted to Tripp and Hunter, the man she loves to hate.
Her heart is torn, but can she truly choose either man while
she guards a horrible secret?
