Romance Paranormal

WILD WOLF CLAIMING is Book 8 in Rhyannon Byrd's Bloodrunners werewolf series. Even though characters from previous books make appearances in this story, I believe readers new to this series can still enjoy WILD WOLF CLAIMING. Since there are humans in WILD WOLF CLAIMING, the Bloodrunner world is explained for new characters and new readers. Rhyannon Byrd does a great job of balancing romance with fast-pace action.

The story opens with good buddies, and fellow Bloodrunners, Elliot Connors and Max Doucet preparing for their latest mission—to protect two women from an unknown psychopath. Being a kind of werewolf cop and overall good guy with a sweet side, Elliot is a sexy and spectacular hero. I love how open Elliot is to finding love and a life-mate, in spite of the lack of affection shown by his biological parents. The caring, level of respect, and the way he always tries to build up Skye's fragile ego bolsters Elliot's credentials as a hero. I also like how he lets Skye know right away how much he is interested in her, even though his intense regard is difficult for her to process.

Elliot and Skye are both amazingly sympathetic and complex characters. Having WILD WOLF CLAIMING told from both perspectives gives the reader a more complete picture of the two main characters. They both have emotional baggage from family relationships that threaten their current romance. Both characters also wrestle with their demons and grow emotionally over the course of the book. The threat of danger, the sporadic attacks by miscellaneous enemies, and being on the run from those threats, heighten the sexual tension between Elliot and Skye and draws them together. The erotic and occasionally light-hearted interludes between Elliot and Skye make WILD WOLF CLAIMING so enjoyable.

WILD WOLF CLAIMING is a delightfully frenetic tale of werewolf justice and true love. The Bloodrunner series is a must- read for true fans of werewolf romance. WILD WOLF CLAIMING has made me eager to go back and hunt down the previous installments in the series I haven't read, and I look forward to reading Max's story next.

But his past has taught him well that nothing worth having ever comes easy. Now things are about to get bloody, dangerous…and wild.
