Here's the basic summary of IN LOVE WITH PARIS: everything is wonderful, all dreams come true and nothing bad is permanently bad. In that way, it is the ultimate escapist fantasy. There is no real conflict, no real tension, and there are some folks who will lap this right up.
Paget and Chris have their meet cute in the line for a flight to Paris for Christmas. Paget then sits next to her favorite author on the flight and they become best friends. While in Paris - which is an unexpected all- expenses paid gift from her boss - she hangs out with the author and completely falls for Chris, and they start their happily ever after immediately. And I do mean immediately.
For me, this was frustrating. Lust is fun and all, but I feel pretty strongly that love can't happen without conflict and without hard conversations because love is a choice. My favorite books are the ones where people choose to love despite conflict and even because of it. So for me, this ticked no boxes - mostly because Chris seemed way too good to be true.
I can see folks who like short and sweet happily ever afters getting a kick out of IN LOVE WITH PARIS, but if you're someone who likes more conflict and tension you may want to give this one a pass.
