Dawn Ryder creates a kaleidoscope of rocker-themed
sensual fantasy. Kate is a tough yet feminine modern
woman, but she loses control and gets knocked off center
around Syon. The realistically flawed characters in ROCK
ME TWO TIMES add depth to the story. There is a magical
chemistry between Kate and Syon, even as they fight their
feelings, and occasionally each other. Dawn Ryder does a
great job of detailing the decadence that is a big part
of the rock-and-roll lifestyle. While reading ROCK ME TWO
TIMES, it is easy to see how seductive Syon and his
bandmates are and why Kate struggles to remain true to
herself.
There are a multitude of obstacles to Kate and Syon's
relationship in ROCK ME TWO TIMES. Kate is forced to
navigate around Toxsin's manager who doesn't think a
steady relationship is good for business. However, some
of the conflict just comes from insecurities and trust
issues that Kate and Syon both have. In spite of the
drama, ROCK ME TWO TIMES has some lighter moments in
addition to the smoking hot romance. The fascinating
dynamic between band members plays a big part in ROCK ME
TWO TIMES. The family-like relationship that the band
members have, coupled with their very different
personalities, adds texture to the story.
ROCK ME TWO TIMES is an energetic and deeply erotic
romance. I enjoyed the epilogue that ties up
loose ends and puts a delightful cap on the story. After
reading ROCK ME TWO TIMES, I became invested in the other
band members and can't wait to hear their stories. I look
forward to the next Rock Band romance by Dawn Ryder.
