The case seemed improbable, crazy even, but Floyd
couldn't resist it. After all, it isn't every day that a
private investigator is hired to track down a woman who
eloped with Bigfoot! Floyd sets off for River City,
Oregon, clothed in his Elvis jumpsuit as he attempts to
solve the case while adhering to living life like Elvis
would. Unfortunately, there's more than a missing woman
and Bigfoot running amok in River City as Floyd soon
finds himself also searching for a chupacabra and a
missing piece of cryptotaxidermy while saddled with a
companion ironically named Goliath.
BIGFOOT BLUES is the second book in Ricardo Sanchez's
Elvis Sightings Mystery series but can easily be
read as a standalone. However, details from the first
book are revealed in BIGFOOT BLUES and since I've not
read ELVIS SIGHTINGS, I don't know if there are spoilers
or not. Regardless, I'll be reading ELVIS SIGHTINGS in
the near future as I want to see more of Floyd and
Ricardo Sanchez's madcap cast of characters.
I laughed so hard I cried while reading BIGFOOT BLUES!
Ricardo Sanchez perfectly captures the sheer wackiness of
Bigfoot mania while throwing in chupacabras and Elvis
impersonators. Part of what makes the absurd seem almost
plausible is Floyd himself. He recognizes that others may
not appreciate his fondness for wearing Elvis jumpsuits
and living life as Elvis would and his own acceptance
helps keep the story from descending into the ridiculous.
BIGFOOT BLUES is a crazy tale filled with zany
characters, and I absolute loved each and every moment.
From the oddities of cryptotaxidermy to the verbal
sparring between Floyd and Goliath, each and every moment
of BIGFOOT BLUES is laugh out loud hilarious. If you
love weird but funny stories, then BIGFOOT BLUES is
exactly what you are looking for. I can't wait to see
what is in store for Floyd next!
She eloped with Bigfoot. Or maybe Bigfoot kidnapped her.
Either way, I’ve been hired to uncover the truth behind
Cindy Funk's disappearance. Me? I’m Floyd, and I’m a PI
living my life as Elvis would have wanted. Not just in
sequined jumpsuits. With character.
Cindy's trail leads me to River City, Oregon—aka the
Mythical Creature Capital of the World—where I catch Case
#2. This one from an eccentric billionaire who’s lost a
priceless piece of “art." Enter one dead body and I end up
deputized to solve Case #3, tracking down a man-eating
mountain lion. Or maybe it’s a chupacabra. Or just an
ordinary murderer. Hard to say.
I've handled my fair share of crazy, but River City's
secrets have me spooked. With an influx of tourists arriving
for the town's annual Elvis tribute contest—what are the
chances?—I've got to save the girl, solve the rich guy's
problem and leash that chupacabra before a second body is
discovered. It might just be mine.
