Heiress Emm (Mercy Magdalena) Rothchild is searching for her missing sister and niece, and nothing is going to stop her. Not even the sexy as all get out Captain Ross Sinclair. When she meets the man she knows that finally she will get justice and better yet, SINCLAIR JUSTICE for her family.
Ross is a Texas Ranger who is busy working on destroying a human trafficking cartel and not even the law will get in the way. His duty is to uphold the law to the letter, but when long legged, longer attitude Emm struts into his office, he knows the rules are about to bend or maybe break.
A betrayal puts Emm straight in harm's way and Ross will have to put his badge -- his very career -- on the line to get justice and along the way prove that a Ranger's word is a forever bond.
SINCLAIR JUSTICE is a fast-paced, tantalizing read. This is the first book I have read by author Colleen Shannon and I enjoyed it. Emm is a feisty, no nonsense character and though an heiress, she came off as down to earth. Ross is an older hero (at 51 to Emm's 38) is solid, secure and just as determined to crush the traffickers as she is. He is also not above sticking up for Emm, even against her own family, which I found admirable.
I will admit that I would have preferred that the romance side had a better build up as I felt the first kiss was a bit too sexual for my taste. You have to read to know what I mean. All in all the action is good, the characters believable, and the chemistry of the main couple is amazing. Despite the ugliness of the main topic (human trafficking) SINCLAIR JUSTICE does hold a number of humorous moments that does help lighten the mood. I will be looking for more offerings by Ms. Shannon.
