Jana had been kidnapped as a child and forced to do many
things, most she cannot remember but she is ashamed none
the less. Now she is reunited with the sister she thought
dead and taken to the dubious safety of the seat of Council
power and allowed to heal. She is learning much about
herself, mostly with the help of one man. She wonders if
it is she or Darak who has the TALENT FOR TROUBLE.
Darak has been elevated in rank and given new
responsibilities but his devil-may-care style belies a
gentle soul. He feels deeply and his empathic abilities
sometimes make him care too much. So how would it be
possible for this caring man to ignore the shattered soul
that cries out for him? It matters little that until the
explosion that nearly killed her, she was considered one the
Council's greatest enemies.
To Jana, who had been raised on a planet of strict moral
codes, but suffered under those who commanded her, sees
Darak as a womanizer and a rogue. There is something that
draws her too him despite her attempts to keep him at arms
length. When he begins to teach her the many ways of
pleasure, she finds that not only is her body willing but
her heart is not far behind.
Darak's plan is to heal the fragile Jana, but when her help
is needed to penetrate deep into enemy territory, will she
aid him, or is she too much under the enemy's influence? The
fate of the galaxy might just be in their hands as well as
two hearts that are searching for their perfect match.
TALENT FOR TROUBLE is the second book of Bianca
D'Arc's Star Lords series. It starts where HIDDEN TALENT
ends and takes us further into this amazing world. Jana is
slightly broken and confused after her release from her
captors (envision a Borg society and that is what she is
escaping) as the world she was trained into has been ripped
from her and she finds her sister is alive and
well. Add to her confusion is Darak, who brings her to life despite her
feelings. Warnings
must be noted here Jana did suffer physical abuse during
her captivity and has no plans to have sexual
contact with anyone. Darak learns of this and works
patiently to help her find pleasure in life. This is an
amazing book of survival that has Jana growing into the
woman that she truly is, facing the past and grasping the
future with both hands. I love TALENT FOR TROUBLE and recommend that
anyone who enjoys science fiction, fantasy, and romance with
just a touch of kink, pick this one up and enjoy.
Can true love restore a broken woman's faith in humanity?
Darak has just been elevated in rank and given new
responsibilities, but his devil-may-care style belies a
gentle soul. He feels deeply and his empathic abilities
sometimes make him care too much. How then, can he ignore
the shattered soul that cries out to him from a woman who,
until recently, was his enemy?
Jana was kidnapped and forced to do many things she cannot
remember, but feels deep shame for her actions, nonetheless.
Reunited with her sister and taken to the dubious safety of
the seat of Council power to heal, she has no idea what’s in
store for the future. She only knows she is free for the
first time in years. Free to think on her own. Free to talk
to her sister. Free to admire the maddening man who bothers
her on every level.
Raised on a planet with strict moral codes, Jana finds the
permissiveness of life on a Council world shocking. Even
though Darak appears to be a womanizer of the worst sort,
Jana is drawn to the rogue. He is handsome, but there’s
something more to him…something deeper that she cannot
resist. And when he begins to teach her about the many ways
of pleasure, she finds not only her body willing to give him
all he desires, but also her heart.
Can Darak’s healing touch break through the fragile facade
Jana shows to the world? And when her help is needed to
penetrate deep into enemy territory, will she aid them, or
will she show her true colors? The fate of the galaxy might
just be in their hands...as well as the fate of two hearts
looking for their perfect match.
Warnings: Jana’s hard a really rough time, including
incidents of psychological and physical abuse in her past
that she must overcome. They are discussed briefly in the
text, but not depicted. There’s also a bit of kink happening
on the good ship Circe. The crew can get up to all sorts of
mischief between missions, and a bit of exhibitionism and/or
voyeurism aren’t out of the question.
