Duncan Ross isn't shy about expressing his feelings for Willow Foster. In fact, everyone in Willow's hometown knows how the Scotsman feels about her and a few are even betting on the outcome of his pursuit. But Willow is determined to ignore him and concentrate on helping the lobstermen she grew up with protect their catch. She's spent her life protecting the Maine coastline as a state assistant attorney general and now her skills are needed to protect those she loves.

Of course, there is time amidst getting run off the road and investigating tips to offer Duncan an affair with no strings attached. He figures it's the way to her heart and graciously caves in.

Ms. Chapman's books never fail to combine humor with terrific characterization. She's populated Puffin Harbor with a cast of people you just have to get to know. And Duncan Ross is one of my favorites. I was glad to read his story. If you haven't met these people yet (oh, you've GOT to read Kee and Rachel's story -- THE SEDUCTIVE IMPOSTER), you've got a new must-read for your summer list. Duncan, Keenan and their friends are some of the hottest heroes around!
