"J.C. Nelson spins fairy tales on their heads!"

Fresh Fiction Review

Wish Bound
J.C. Nelson

Paranormal | Fantasy

Birthdays have never been kind to Marissa Locks and this year is no exception. Unfortunately, the Black Queen has returned and Marissa is beholden to her as her handmaiden. Can Marissa fight the compulsions when the Black Queen commands her? WISH BOUND is chock-full of action as the fast pace never relents. Marissa is thrown headfirst from one catastrophe to another and the pace is almost overwhelming at times. However, I like that J.C. Nelson starts to fill in some of the missing pieces that begin to make the entire series coalesce quite nicely. WISH BOUND has some startling revelations and I'm excited to see the direction the Grimm Agency series is taking as the possibilities are endless. WISH BOUND is the third book in the outrageously wacky but oh so fun Grimm Agency series. J.C. Nelson spins fairy tales on their heads as his quirky and somewhat twisted version is a pure delight. I would suggest reading WISH BOUND in the context of the series as a whole as the relationships and ongoing story threads have been developing over the course of the series. Don't miss out on a single book in the Grimm Agency series as J.C. Nelson's world is spectacular!

SUMMARY

From the author of Armageddon Rules, the fanciful and fun continuation of the Grimm Agency novels... As a partner at Grimm’s magical Agency, Marissa Locks is used to working odd jobs. But when an evil queen reappears in Kingdom, life becomes too strange to handle… Even when she’s not starting it, trouble follows Marissa everywhere. First there was the incident with the homicidal Fairy Godmother. Then there was the time she accidentally started Armageddon. But the problems that always seem to arise on Marissa’s birthday take the cake. This year, her annual bad-luck presents include an army of invading goblins, the resurrection of two vengeful enemies from hell, and the return of the Black Queen, the evil sorceress whose reign of terror still haunts Kingdom and who happens to have claimed Marissa as her servant. As Marissa’s friends try to save her from the Black Queen’s clutches, Marissa fights to end a bitter war that started before her birth. But her quest for peace is about to bring up some inconvenient truths about her own past—ones that might cost her the happily ever after she’s always dreamed of…
