Melissa "Lissa" Sherman has returned to her childhood
home, but danger lurks in every corner of her once quiet
hometown. A decades old secret has already led to one
murder and now Lissa finds herself smack in the midst of
a second murder when her car is used as a weapon. Worse
yet, the victim is the father of the man she has never
been able to forget, even after Mack broke her heart.
Meanwhile, Lissa is being stalked, and the actions of her
stalker are escalating.
COLD HEARTS is the second book in Sharon Sala's
Secrets and Lies series. While COLD HEARTS can be
read as a standalone, the ongoing thread involving the
murders is far too intriguing to miss even a single
moment. Sharon Sala gives us new insights into the
murders while throwing one heck of a twist at us. I'm
still stunned and in shock by the conclusion of COLD
HEARTS. I can't wait to get my hands on the third book!
Sharon Sala does a marvelous job at balancing the ongoing
storyline while developing a warm and deeply moving
romance. Mack and Lissa's love story tugs on your heart,
particularly when the full details surrounding their
original breakup come to light. I love the flashback
memories from them as it helps us see the depth of their
love and makes the rekindling of it all the more
believable.
Sharon Sala is the absolute master of romantic suspense
and COLD HEARTS once again demonstrates her ability to
craft beautiful and emotionally intense stories. I love
how Sharon Sala creates real world scenarios for her
characters as she sensitively addresses tough issues.
COLD HEARTS is an absolute gem and I can't wait to see
how the Secrets and Lies series concludes!
There's only one way to keep secrets buried…
If only it had been something else that brought Lissa Sherman
and Mack Jackson back in touch after so many years. Something—
anything—other than the murder of Mack's father. Even worse,
Lissa's car had been used as the murder weapon.
Thirty-five years ago, four friends went out joyriding and
ended up in a terrible accident that left one dead and the
others with no memory of that awful night. Now two more
people, including Mack's father, have been murdered, and if
the lone survivor knows why they're being targeted, she's not
talking.
Even as Lissa and Mack find themselves drawn together in the
midst of tragedy, the mystery deepens when someone comes after
Lissa, too. Is the danger to her tied to the other deaths, or
are two killers at work in town? Now Mack has to fight an
unknown attacker as well as his feelings for Lissa, but it may
be that he can't win either battle.
