Romance Contemporary

Vern Taylor has his dream job as a Mount Hood Aviation Firefighter. Nothing stirs his blood like flying his Firehawk through danger and mayhem. Although his uncontrollable attraction to Denise Conroy is a close second, Vern knows he has no chance with such an intriguing woman. When a mystery presents itself among his fellow pilots, Vern and Denise are determined to find out what exactly is going on. Denise Conroy, aka Wrench, has worked hard to become head mechanic for the Mount Hood team and has become top of her field. But her sad past mixed in with a messy relationship, has forced Denise to hide her true self from her colleagues. Putting up a cold and distant facade is much easier for her. But staying away from Vern is becoming far too difficult, and when heat flares to life between them, Denise must decide if she is willing to take a chance at love, and risk being burned? And as Vern and Denise get drawn into a covert mission, will they survive the danger ahead? HOT POINT by M.L. Buchman is a fast-paced, action-packed romance that thrills in all of the right places. Vern and Denise are fascinating characters that draw the reader in, and make them really care about their future. There is a lot of technical detail in the Aviation department but I thought this added to the overall feel of the novel, making it realistic and believable. The romance between Vern and Denise is firefighting hot and I really enjoyed the development of their story. HOT POINT by M.L. Buchman is a pleasure to read for action and romance fans alike.

SUMMARY

THESE AIRBORNE HEROES BATTLE MORE THAN FLAMES The elite firefighters of Mount Hood Aviation fly into places even the CIA can't penetrate. FROM WILDFIRE TO GUNFIRE Master mechanic Denise Conroy-with a reputation for being as steel-clad as the aircraft she keeps aloft-shuns useless flyboys who don't know one end of a wrench from the other. Firehawk pilot Vern Taylor-known for unstoppable charm and a complete lack of mechanical skills-proves his talent for out-of-the-box thinking with every flight. He's a survivor and a natural-born heli-aviation firefighter. When Denise and Vern crash together in the Central American jungle with wildfire on one side and a full-fledged military coup on the other, their newly forged partnership is tested to the max. They have each other, but not even their formidable skills combined can protect Denise and Vern from the conflagration sweeping the jungle...and their hearts.
