Never has a book kept me looking behind myself in the dark as A DARK LURE by Loreth Anne White has! A thriller that will have you frozen in your seat and hearing sounds that are not there, A DARK LURE is sure to please those who have a love for suspenseful, unnerving, and romantic mysteries. Yes, it has all the features that I love to find in that perfect novel and I did not put it down until I was done. The storyline would go from present to past describing the characters' background that lead up to the current events but never losing you in the process. What a great suspense writer Loreto Anne White is!
Sara Baker is a true survivor. With her greatest struggles never forgotten, someone decides to remind her of her past. More than a decade ago, the Watt Lake Killer abducted her and she knows what he has done and she lived to tell about it. Now with her name changed to Olivia, she has left the past behind and works on Broken Bar Ranch, but still dealing with her PTSD. A new body is found with the MO of the Watt Lake Killer but it can't be. But he is supposed to be dead. Did they even get the right guy? How could they not? She was there.
To make matters worse, her boss is dying and his son, Cole, comes to help on the ranch. Can Olivia let go of her past to let in love again? Can Cole let go of his demons as well? They may need each other more than they think. Will it be to late with a killer on the loose?
A DARK LURE was a thrill to read. I love when a story keeps me on edge and up late to finish it. Loreth Anne White has a gift at writing a novel that is as terrifying as it is, making it hard to put down. I cannot wait to read more of her novels.
