Every time I sit down to read a novel by Christine Feehan I'm find myself torn between excitement and dread. I am a huge fan of paranormal novels. Okay, I'm a little obsessed and Feehan drew me into that world. I fell in love with the Carpathian race and it's prince Mickael in the first book and have patiently waited for each new book to arrive. With each new story I devour it makes me yearn for more to see what will happen next to the characters I have come to love.
So when I say I dread reading her books it's the thought of having to wait six months to a year for the next installment. Christine delivered in her trilogy of Dark Hunter novels that have truly introduced werewolves into the world that she has created and this is the third in that series. And a story that fans have been waiting for years to see.
DARK BLOOD story is about Zev, an elite warrior, a dark-blood dealer of death to rogue Lycans who preyed on mankind and Branislava one of the strongest Carpathian females alive who is also half-mage. This story delves further into the politics of the two races. It is full of love, danger, and deceit as two races that have been at war for ages are forced to work together against a more dangerous threat from within. DARK BLOOD brings together so many elements, locations, and families into one story. The author has spent years building a whole world, species, and language that makes this story so intricate and fascinating for her readers.
I had no idea of her hopes for this world when I first began this series. While I was waiting for DARK BLOOD to be released, it gave me the chance to glance back and I was blown away by how far these characters have come. Everything they have suffered and done to try to survive as a species.
