SAFE AT LAST is the third book in the Slow Burn series. It can be read as a standalone but the Slow Burn seris is a sizzling series with powerful characters and you'll want to read them all.

SAFE AT LAST reunites Zack Covington and Anna-Grace after a twelve year separation. Zack has always known that "his Gracie" was the one for him. So he is devastated when she disappears without a word. He has spent twelve year trying to find out what happened to her.

Working for Deveraux Security Services (DSS) Zack comes across a painting that he knows only Gracie could have painted. As he is confronting the art gallery owner about the painter Gracie walks in. Once he is face to face with Gracie, Zack is devastated by Gracie's response to seeing him and he is trying to understand her reaction to him. Grace has been lead to believe all these years that Zack was responsible for her pain all those years before.

When Zack finally learns why Gracie reacts the way she does, he loses it. He is even further devastated to learn who was behind all the pain that Gracie endured twelve years ago. Not only did Gracie suffer horrendous pain twelve years ago but she suffers more pain when Zack's enemies target her. Zack feels responsible for both incidents because he feels he was not there to protect her.

There is so much pain in this story until it's a wonder anyone can survive it. Zack and Gracie have both been through so much heartbreak and your heart breaks for them when you learn how they both suffered and were betrayed.

Zack has finally found 'his Gracie" and vows that somehow he will win her back. Once Gracie sees Zack's reaction to learning about what happened to her she begins to wonder if she maybe mistaken in blaming him. Zack and Gracie finally find their way back to each other after wading through all their pain and suffering.

These DSS men have extraordinary women who have extraordinary powers that they use to come to a friend's rescue. If SAFE AT LAST is the first book you are reading in this series I absolutely recommend books one and two. The women are extraordinary and the men are kick ass amazing.

SAFE AT LAST is a story about coming out on the other side of devastation and perseverance when it looks like all is lost.
