It's a busy time of a year for any business, but even
more so for a newly established bakery. Toni is slammed
with all the orders she has for Christmas and she's
determined to let law enforcement do their job and stay
out of this murder. Unfortunately, the primary suspect is
her brother, Tim, and everyone wants Toni's input on what
happened. Toni knows her brother isn't a murderer... but
can she find the real culprit while keeping her bakery
afloat?
FLOURLESS TO STOP HIM is the third book in the Baker's
Treat series and can easily be read as a standalone.
However, I can't imagine why anyone wouldn't want to dive
right into Nancy J. Parra's world and read the entire
series as each book truly is a delightful treat! From the
characters to the town of Oiltop itself, every aspect is
enjoyable.
Toni has quickly become one of my favorite cozy mystery
heroines. There is always a fine line at balancing the
heroine becoming involved in too many mysteries before
credibility is strained. Nancy J. Parra shows Toni
struggling with letting law enforcement do their job and
focusing on her own management of her bakery business and
it adds a real air of believability to the overall
storyline.
However, it is the quirky character of Grandma Ruth who
continues to steal the show in the Baker's Treat
series! I absolutely love Grandma Ruth and her antics,
all the more so when you see the sweet heart hiding under
her outspoken exterior. Who can't help but love Toni's
large and outrageously eccentric family, even as they
drive her absolutely nutty at times?
FLOURLESS TO STOP HIM is yet another stunningly good
installment in the Baker's Treat series! Nancy J.
Parra continues to weave together phenomenal characters,
an excellent mystery, and educational information on what
it means to have Celiac Disease and need gluten-free
food. I love each and every moment I spend visiting with
the quirky characters in Oiltop and seeing what
scrumptious treats Toni is whipping up for her customers.
I can't wait for the next book!
