CHERRY LANE is another great novel by Rochelle Alers. It's book number five in the Cavanaugh Island Series.

CHERRY LANE can be read as a standalone. This series is centered around the three towns located on Cavanaugh Island: Angels Creek, Sanctuary Cove and Haven Creek. If CHERRY LANE is the first book in the series that you're reading, I recommend that you give the others books a read because they each have their own unique story and they give you a rich history lesson on the Gullah community.

CHERRY LANE is the story of New York entertainment lawyer Devon Collins and Charleston defense attorney David Sullivan - - two people with strong personalities and determination.

Devon was in a relationship with Gregory Emerson for a year when she discovers she's pregnant. When she attempts to contact Gregory to inform him of her pregnancy he cuts off all communication so Devon goes to his house to tell him when she discovers that not only is Gregory involved with another woman but he's engaged to her.

When her mother and father reject her because she intends to be an unwed mother she goes to Cavanaugh Island for solace and to decide where she wants to raise her baby.

While attending a get-together at her friend's place she meets David and there is immediate chemistry. Their connection is so strong others assume that they are in a relationship. When David indicates that he's interested in her, Devon wonders how interested he will be when he learns that she's pregnant with another man's child. David shows her that her pregnancy does not deter him.

After spending time on the Island Devon soon learns that she not only can depend on David but that she has developed friendships with so many others that she can count on.

Devon went to the Island after her mother rejected her for not living up to the "family image" her mother felt she should reflect.

Can a family relationship be mended when they turn their backs on you when you need them the most?

CHERRY LANE is a thought provoking story with rich characters!

SUMMARY

A place to call home . . .

In New York City, attorney Devon Gilmore devoted all her time and energy to fast-track her career. She lost her boyfriend . . . but found herself with a surprise baby on the way. To begin a new life, Devon needs a place to settle down-a place like Cavanaugh Island, where the pace is slow, the weather is fine, and the men are even finer.

From the moment David Sullivan meets Devon, he knows he can't fight the laws of attraction. Whether it's helping fix up the old cottage she just bought on Cherry Lane or working together on a pro bono legal case, he can't help feeling a little protective. But will the most eligible bachelor in town be ready for an instant family? Only if he can convince Devon to put her heart on the line one more time-for all time.
