To society Anna Sloane appears to be the epitome of the
perfect lady—beautiful, charming and well-
mannered—the
opposite of her eldest sister, Olivia. What they do not
understand is that she has perfected this facade in order
to
protect her family and find a wealthy husband. But now
that
Olivia has married the Earl of Wrexham, Anna is so longer
obligated to marry for money, and is free to find love.
And
with this new found freedom, Anna has become confused and
lost. Secretly penning successful romance novels, Anna
has had
to hide her more adventurous, passionate self, but as she
finds herself in the company of Devlin Greville, a
notorious
rake and reprobate, a dangerous passion flares to life.
For
Devlin is not what he seems and has many secrets of his
own.
Willing to allow society to disparage him, Devlin
secretly
works for the Home Office on covert missions, which help
fund
his true passion and the re-establishment of his estate.
Although he enjoys teasing Anna, he is unprepared for the
onslaught of emotions that she stirs in him when they
share a
kiss. Happy to put some distance between them, Devlin
arrives
in a remote part of Scotland for a country house party
where
he is working undercover to investigate a possible murder
plot. He is shocked to find Anna as part of the party,
and it is not
long before the tension between them is too hard to
ignore.
But with murder, secrets, confusion and danger, will
Devlin
and Anna be willing to unleash their true natures and
find
love in each others arms?
Cara Elliott has done it again with her second
installment in
the Hellions of High Street series, SINFULLY
YOURS.
Evocative, passionate and adventurous, this Regency
romance
definitely stands out from the crowd. The character of
Anna
has so many layers and it was so enjoyable to watch her
discover her true, spirited self.
Devlin is deeply
misunderstood by society. I love his slightly arrogant
manner, and the way he opens himself up to Anna and
accepts
her for who she truly his. The passion between them is
sizzling hot, and I just could not get enough of this
story.
Throw in a murder plot, a house party in the Scottish
Highlands, and a drop of adventure, and this novel has it
all.
Cara Elliott is such a talented author and I wait with
bated
breath for the third book in theHellions of High
Street
series.
It takes a hellion to give this devil his due
After an eventful Season, Anna Sloane longs for some peace
and quiet to pursue her
writing. Though her plots might be full of harrowing
adventure and heated passion,
she'd much prefer to leave such exploits on the page rather
than experience them in
real life. Or so she thinks until she encounters the darkly
dissolute-and
gorgeously charming-Marquess of Davenport.
Davenport has a reputation as a notorious rake whose only
forte is wanton
seduction. However the real reason he's a guest at the same
remote Scottish castle
has nothing to do with Anna . . . until a series of
mysterious threats leave him no
choice but to turn to her for help in stopping a dangerous
conspiracy. As desire
erupts between them, Davenport soon learns he's not the only
one using a carefully
crafted image to hide his true talents. And he's more than
ready to show Anna that
sometimes reality can be even better than her wildest
imaginings . . .
