NO ONE LIKE YOU is Book four in Kate Angell's Barefoot
William Beach series. Unlike some previous books in
this series,
NO ONE LIKE YOU only follows one romance -- the one that
gradually develops between pro baseball player Rylan Cates
and his new PA Beth Avery.
The relationship between Rylan and Beth develops very
organically. At the opening of NO ONE LIKE YOU, Beth is
just hired as his personal assistant. One of the reasons
Rylan hires Beth is that she isn't the type of woman he's
normally physically attracted to. Kate Angell creates a
sexy love story with substance. I love the pacing in this
romance. The friendship that develops between Rylan and
Beth early on and the slowly simmering attraction is
delicious.
I like having the story told from both points of
view. As with other books in this series, the characters
really make this story. Both Rylan and Beth are likable
and
complex characters. The supporting characters like Rylan's
teammates, family, and dogs are fabulous as well and add
additional layers to this story that make it so enjoyable.
Beth's duties include managing just about everything in
Rylan's very busy life and taking care of his four beloved
dogs. In some ways, when reading NO ONE LIKE YOU, I felt
like the situation with Beth coming in and caring for
Rylan's dogs is similar to a housekeeper coming in to take
care of a home involving a single dad and his children.
Rylan's dogs -- Atlas, Rue, Oscar, and Nathan -- are
important main characters and just as lovable as real
children. The relationship that Beth develops with the
dogs
is as adorable as the one the dogs have with each other.
NO ONE LIKE YOU is a perfect example of why I adore
the Barefoot William Beach series by Kate Angell --
it's the
perfect blend mix of sexy and sweet, amazing characters,
and fun stories. This series is highly addictive brain
candy for the soul. I eagerly await the next installment
in
this always entertaining series.
No One Expects a Curveball
For Rylan Cates, the gloriously sunny beachside town of
Barefoot William may be home, but the pro baseball player
needs to focus on spring training. Hiring a personal
assistant to keep him and his four dogs organized for the
next eight weeks is the first step--and Beth Avery is the
perfect pinch hitter.
Beth is still looking for her place in the world, and a
couple months caring for Rylan's two dachshunds, his
golden retriever, and a Great Dane named Atlas should
shore up her finances before she moves on. Except it's
Atlas who won't budge, pushing her toward tanned, scruffy,
sexy Rylan every chance he gets. One more strike and she's
calling the dog out--unless she and Rylan admit that the
attraction they're feeling is a game-winning grand slam. .
