ONE WILD BULL RIDER is being released as book one in a
series revolving around -- well you guessed it
Professional Bull Riders. Tina Leonard had developed
these characters as part of past series and revitalized
them in the Bull Rider series. As a fan of Tina Leonard I
enjoyed revisiting some of these wonderfully quirky
characters -- kind of having a book reunion of sorts. ONE
WILD BULL RIDER was especially welcome since the story
line hints at a wondrous tale about the Callahan clan and
their efforts to maintain control and ownership of land
held for generations.
As you can tell from his name Creed Callahan has an
interesting life history. That history is tied to the
family homestead Rancho Diablo. Many generations of
Callahan's have put sweat equity into this rather harsh
land and Creed and his brothers are now faced with their
own share of challenges.
Creed has been a fixture on the bull riding circuit with
an impressive record to date. Meeting Aberdeen Donovan
wasn't anything Creed expected and candidly not something
he had hoped for. He was a lone warrior of sorts
traveling from one event to another. The closest thing
Creed had to roots was his family's ranch. His Aunt Fiona
was doing her best to corral Creed and his brothers back
to the ranch. Creed like all the other Callahan brothers
were going to have to be dragged back home. There were
outside sources at play. Fiona was trying to figure out a
solution but in the meantime the only weapon she had was
the brothers. They needed to be back at the ranch -- all
of them and soon.
Aberdeen knew in her heart there was no future for her
and this bull rider but she realized that Creed had a big
heart and he could help her out in a big way. She needed
a way to safeguard her sister's children. Creed could and
would help her. No hearts involved. This was a business
deal that could help them both. Aberdeen could get
custody of the children and Creed could get his aunt off
his case. Kill two birds with one stone.
But as time went on Creed was beginning to warm up to a
life with this quick witty woman. Problem was Aberdeen
definitely wasn't on board for the long haul. Creed was
always up to a challenge. With Aberdeen he was learning
that he perhaps had met his match. A bull ride takes only
seconds -- a life with the woman he loved was going to
take a lot longer than that to win.
ONE WILD BULL RIDER as all the others in the series
stands on its own. Tina Leonard planted enough hints
through this story that will definitely have the reader
looking for more stories about the Callahan family.
SUMMARY
No woman’s going to hog-tie Creed Callahan into getting
hitched. Even if it means losing his claim on Rancho
Diablo,
the New Mexico spread that one of six brothers will
inherit—whoever marries and has the most children. Come
hell
or high water, Creed plans to be the last single man
standing. Until sweet temptation comes knocking…. Preacher Aberdeen Donovan is just fine tending her flock
and
getting ready to adopt her three nieces. Her job
description
does not include saving some incorrigible cowboy from
himself. But there’s something about a little competition
that makes the devil-may-care bachelor change his mind
about
needing a wife. And marriage would help Aberdeen provide a
home for the little girls. Not to mention, for the little
secret that’s on the way…
