Sloane Redding has always been the shy, timid one, but on the morning of her wedding she was dumped by the man she thought she would spend her life with. Humiliated she runs, leaving Nowhere, Alabama for a job in the city. She remakes herself ... she is successful ... but only on the outside. Returning to Nowhere for her brother's wedding she is ready to change on the inside, she decides it's time for THE VIRGIN'S NIGHT OUT and she takes a wild one.
The night of his best friend's wedding D.B. "Boone" Cassidy walks into the lone bar in Nowhere with only the plan to get wasted. It should have been easy to spot trouble but she was one sexy woman in a wicked red dress so he didn't and ended up spending an amazing night with this mystery woman.
At the wedding, he learns the truth ... she's his best friends little sister. And it just gets better from there. Boone learned at the hands of his father that he was never going to be a husband or father ... he would never do that to any woman. Is it possible that Sloane can change his mind? And what about the secret she keeps from him? Will that change his life forever ... bringing him the love he doesn't know he wants or needs?
THE VIRGIN'S NIGHT OUT had me from the first word and I felt every thing that Sloane and Boone went through to find peace and love. I have to admit that at first I just thought Boone was a jerk, but I quickly learn, thanks to author Shiloh Walker's brilliant way with words and plotting that he is running away from a horrible past. As I read this book I saw it as a study in being stronger than your past, not letting those who brutalized you win in any way. I was so thrilled when Boone opened up about the man his father was and how quickly Sloane let him know that he was not that type of man and never could be. She believed in him and soon he believes in himself thanks to the strength of her love. In many ways this could be looked at as a sweet romance with a good touch of steam; once the secrets are all out and they begin to work together. I think readers will find THE VIRGIN'S NIGHT OUT a very good read with a lot going on but very well written with characters that are all-in-all likeable. You will find yourself rooting for this couple to become a family long before the last page.
