For most being stuck at home because of a snow storm is
just a handy way to blow off work although the prospect
of shoveling out is rather daunting. But in the case of
SNOW IN by Sarah Title it becomes so much more -- in fact
this storm may just change some lives.
Of course with SNOWED IT you have to have good sense of
humor as you suspend disbelief at the possibility of
meeting someone at an ice cream freezer case. Those
things don't actually happen -- do they? But if they did
SNOWED IN provides some of the best moments and believe
or not will warm your hearts.
SNOWED IN is more the size of a novella -- a short story
spanning a very short period of time. A period where
Maureen the librarian gets the proverbial boot from her
live in boyfriend of several years. And unflattering boot
to boot. In a fit of self-flagellation Maureen finds
herself in front of said ice cream freezer determined to
lose herself in a pint.
Not Maureen's best moment and yet that's when she meets
Gavin. It took one major lapse of thinking and a really
hot kiss to help Maureen to remember how to smile. Gavin
put a humorous spin on why she was camped out at the
freezer and by the time they parted ways -- darn if
Maureen's thoughts weren't occupied by Gavin in place of
her ex.
It took a strange old lady with some sage advice to
finally convince Maureen to move on girlie -- well
actually the advice was to have a fling. There was no
better person but Gavin to have that fling with. But a
huge snow storm was going to have an impact on much more
than just the weather.
SNOWED IN by Sarah Title is jammed packed with all the
best elements of a romantic comedy. Quirky people, jazzy
dialog, hot sex and fun from the first page to the last.
SNOWED IN may be short but it is worth the price of
admission. SNOWED IN is a good intro to a relatively new
author. Will definitely put Sarah Title on the list of
authors to watch.
SUMMARY
There’s nothing like a hot kiss on a cold day… Librarian Maureen O’Connell might have predicted she’d find herself crying into the ice cream case at the supermarket after a bad breakup—but she definitely never imagined that a guy hot enough to melt the Rocky Road would flirt with her right there in the freezer aisle. Only Gavin Fraser isn’t a fantasy, he’s a mouth-watering new flavor… When a freak snowstorm strands Maureen at Gavin’s after just one date, it’s a perfect excuse for something a lot steamier than hot chocolate in front of the fire. It’s definitely lust. Can it also be love?
