Selina had a great life. Saline has three children, a
beautiful
home and Simon her husband.
Simon is out of town a lot. Almost all of his business
dealings are done over seas. So he is gone for long
periods
at a time.
Lottie's life is not as great as Selina's. Lottie has a
daughter and a loving husbandl Simon.
Little do they know that they are both married to the same
man. How do they find out? It's at his funeral. While
Selina
is grieving, Lottie is not only grieving, but can't
understand why she was not involved in the funeral
arrangements. All of this comes to a head when they meet
up at Simon's funeral. Both women are shocked beyond
words.
Not only do they find out that Simon married both of them,
but he also divided up his estate between the two of them.
Selina is mad as hell, that she has to sell her home but
also has to give up their property in Italy. Lottie is
devastated that she is broke, and may lose her home.
Because
the police feel that Simon killed himself, there will be
no
insurance pay out. Selina feels that Simon would never
take his own life.
Can the two of them learn to deal with the fact that they
both were conned by Simon or will there be a WAR OF THE
TWO WIVES?
Tamar Cohen had me from the first page. I really enjoyed
the way that she made me feel for both women. At first I
felt sorry for Selina, than all of a sudden I was feeling
sorry for Lottie. At one point in the book I really hated
Selina. It seemed like she didn't care about Simon, only
what his money would get her.
Tamar Cohen has a way of making the reader love and hate
characters at the
same time. She also brought into the book the feelings of
what the four children of Simon were going though. Both
women
learn a lot through their children. From one not being in
the right frame of mind to the other ones coming to grips
knowing that they have another sibling
WAR OF THE WIVES is a great story.
I really like the way it all came together.
Think marriage means happily-ever-after? Think again…
Selina and Lottie are complete opposites. Where Selina is
poised but prudish, Lottie is quirky
and emotional. Selina is the dutiful mother of three
children and able manager of their stylish
suburban home. Lottie lives with her eccentric teenage
daughter in a small city apartment fit to
bursting with color and happy chaos. But these women also
have one shocking similarity: they're
married to the same man…and they've just found out he's
dead.
Selina has been married to Simon Busfield for twenty-eight
years, Lottie for seventeen. Neither
knows a thing about the other until the day of Simon's
funeral, where the scandalous truth is
revealed in front of everyone they know. Another wife,
another family… And they've only just
scratched the surface of Simon's incredible betrayal.
With dark humor and razor-sharp wit, Cohen expertly
unravels a story of deception and betrayal,
where two very different families will discover they are
entwined in ways that will change them
all forever.
