Receiving news of her father's heart attack, Magda Hobbs pulls into Whispering Springs, Texas on her Harley-Davidson Fat Boy from Memphis. At twelve years old Magda's mother died, leaving her going from foster home to foster home, never belonging anywhere or to anyone. Zeb Hobbs learned he had a daughter after California social services finally notified him and didn't manage to find her until she was nineteen.
He rescued her off the streets where she was living since running away from her last foster home. Nothing has been easy for Magda, but she does love her father. Her father's current boss and her old boss of last summer, Mitch Landry, is married to Olivia of the Montgomery clan. While previously working for Mitch, Magda ran from a hot and intense love affair with Olivia's brother, Reno Montgomery, believing it was a one sided love.
Zeb is recovering and Magda spends Christmas day with the entire Montgomery family, suffering through the strained situation between she and Reno. Reno never understood why she left without an explanation. Reno and his twin brother Darren purchased their dream ranch an hour from town. At the dinner, Magda is offered a job as housekeeper for the by their mother. With no other prospects to bring in money until she takes off again after her father's recuperation, she has no alternative than to accept. Explicit ground rules are laid to the twins; no touching, no flirting, no sharing her bed. The heat steps up when Darren is hospitalized with a broken leg and Magda inadvertently saves Reno's life when he's stranded and half frozen near the pond in an ice storm. With electricity out and only a fireplace to keep warm, their body heat accomplishes the rest. Totally involved again in her worst nightmare of risking her heart yet again, between unknown pinholes in the condoms and offers of marriage, there is no way Magda will trap her cowboy. It takes more than an "I love you" , lacking sincerity and truth to get this softhearted woman to take what she most wants. Her true fear is falling for a cowboy, just like her mother did, who wasn't looking for love but just a good time.
TEXAS BOSSA NOVA is book five in the Texas Montgomery Mavericks. One sexy woman with a bad case of wanderlust and a cowboy determined to keep her can give as good as they take. If these two can't spark a little eroticism in the reader, nothing can. Steamy, emotional sex isn't the same with just anyone else. Only these two can heat up the sheets and sizzle. I have had the distinct pleasure of reading other works by Cynthia D'Alba and have enjoyed every single word every time. The reader will live with the colorful characters through their fears, emotions and uncertainties. Anyone enjoying a true "romance" story (with some really hot sex) can't help but love this one. Kept me glued to the pages in one sitting until that very last page was turned. I will be first in line for any new additions to this series.
