TO THE EDGE, the first book in Gerard's new Bodyguard series, has a great plotline with superior characters and a detailed backstory. Instead of the stereotypical "I hate you/I love you" scenario so common with romantic suspense, Gerard allows the reader to understand the characters' perspectives in a realistic fashion. The storyline moves quickly from interesting subplot to interesting subplot with red herrings instead of dull spots.
