Romance Contemporary

Darcy Wilde cannot believe she has returned to the small town of Falcon, Alabama. Having grown up with her grandmother, Darcy had done everything in her power to be the opposite of her wild mother, who was more interested in drinking and drugs than looking after her daughter. As a successful research librarian in Atlanta, Darcy thought she had left her football obsessed childhood home in the past. But when her beloved grandmother, Ava, broke both of her hips, her cousin Logan needs Darcy to return. Loving Ava deeply, Darcy agrees to help but only for a short time. Darcy believes her future could never be in Falcon.

Robbie Dalton is the outsider in Falcon. Having served with Logan, Darcy's cousin, in Afghanistan, Logan had convinced him to settle in Alabama, and take the position of head football coach. If he can drag this team up to scratch, this could be the perfect place for Robbie to find the solitude he desires. Having grown up in foster care, Robbie struggles with emotional scars that affect him just as much as his war wounds. Not used to trusting, Robbie is shocked to find himself opening up to Logan's sexy and sweet cousin, Darcy.

When a misunderstanding threatens Robbies position as coach, it is up to Darcy to fix it. Faking a relationship, Darcy and Robbie soon realise they cannot keep their hands off each other. As a deep and satisfying passion stirs to life between them, many obstacles threaten to block their way—jealous housewives, troubled teens, and angry youths who go too far. When tragedy strikes will Robbie face his fears of inadequacy, and be there for the woman of his dreams? Or will Darcy leave and return to Atlanta, nursing a broken heart?

SLOW AND STEADY RUSH by Laura Trentham is one of those stories that just envelops you at the beginning and makes it impossible for you to put it down. Darcy is such a likeable character, and as I watched her gain more self confidence and realise her worth, she blossomed into a little spitfire. Robbie is handsome, intelligent, and hilariously blunt in many situations, but underneath his brash exterior is the injured heart of a caring and protective hero. Watching their seriously steamy relationship unfold was so enjoyable, and as the novel took more serious twists and turns, I was glued to the page, to see how it would end. So my recommendation is buy SLOW AND STEADY RUSH by Laura Trentham now! Oh and I can't wait to read Logan's story next, I hope.

SUMMARY

She lives by the book—and is still searching for her happily ever after.

Darcy Wilde has tried hard not to live up to her last name. As a librarian in Atlanta she lives a fine life far away from the football-obsessed town of her childhood. But when her beloved Grandmother needs help, Darcy takes a leave of absence and heads back to the home and past she left behind.

He knows how to play the field—and is in no rush to settle down.

Robbie Dalton knows a thing or two about painful pasts. After bouncing around in foster care and the Army for years he is finally ready to move on and make a home for himself in Falcon, Alabama as the newest high school football coach. Sparks fly when the sexy new coach and the sharp-tongued librarian meet, but neither of them is looking to make ties.

But when it comes to love, sometimes you’ve gotta throw away the rule book to cross the finish line…

Everything changes when Darcy falls in love, not only with the gruff, protective, and smoking hot man who's sharing her days and nights, but also with the complex tapestry of people who weave Falcon together. Could this be where she belongs - and who she belongs with?
