Romance Historical

If he could turn back time, Bray Drakestone, Marquis of Lockington, heir to the Dukedom of Drakestone certainly would chose that option. The young and handsome Bray certainly is wealthy enough, but money cannot undo the horrible damage from a stupid and feckless bet made after a night of heavy drinking. After Nathan, her beloved brother and Viscount Wayebury, is killed in a racing accident in 1815, Louisa Prim has mourned him for two years. Now, she has come to London to help launch her younger sister Gwen's season so that Gwen can find a husband. With both her parents and now Nathan gone, the pretty blonde 20 year old Louisa has given up on her own dream of finding love and a husband as she dutifully cares for her four younger sisters. Nathan had been Bray's good friend but their ill-conceived bet ended in disaster and the Viscount had been mortally injured. Nathan is concerned over what would happen to his five young sisters and so had requested an important promise from Bray. Now all of the ton in London is buzzing over whether Bray will keep this promise or not. With a choice between marriage or spinsterhood, Louisa wants no part of being with the man she holds personally responsible for Nathan's death and is determined to lead her life as best she can on her terms. For his part, Bray only wants to do right by his friend; yet, surprisingly, he finds Louisa intriguing as well as beautiful. Will she respond to his challenge? Can he put aside his arrogant and cold approach, so her heart can be open to him? Award winning romance author Amelia Grey sets the stage for a very different approach to marriage in THE DUKE IN MY BED, a delightful first book in her new The Heirs Club trilogy. With a strong plot, hot love scenes, boisterous children and surprising twists, Grey deftly pulls together a sweet and saucy regency romance that reads very well as a stand- alone story while leaving the reader panting for the next book in the series. I particularly like how Grey weaves in historical facts as well as how quickly fortunes and lives could change into the storyline, especially for young women. As Louisa tries to control what little she can in life, Grey provides insights into Louisa's lot as her own aspirations for life were killed by her brother's death and her duty now to provide what is best for her young sisters. The main characters in THE DUKE IN MY BED are strongly developed and well matched. Bray is a likable hero - rakish and used to getting his own way; yet, with hidden depths and a compassionate and protective nature that develops as he begins to see what a family can be as opposed to the coldness that was his experience as an only child. I particularly relished the rapier sharp battles of wit and sparkling dialogue between Bray and Louisa, especially when she finds out about the new Guardianship arrangement and Bray's interactions with the younger four sisters. THE DUKE IN MY BED is delightful Regency treat with lots of hilarious moments, especially when he discovers how lively and noisy young girls can be! I can hardly wait for Gray's next in the trilogy, The Earl Claims A Bride, coming out this summer. So, get your copy of THE DUKE IN MY BED to find out who wins in the battle over the bet. Enjoy!

SUMMARY

From bestselling author Amelia Grey comes The Duke in My Bed, a wickedly romantic tale of one reckless bachelor, five unwed sisters, and a wildly unconventional game of love…

HERE COMES THE GROOM

As a notorious member of the Heirs’ Club, Bray Drakestone can’t resist a challenge from one of his well-heeled colleagues—especially when it involves money and horses. But the friendly wager takes an unexpected and deadly turn. Bray is forced to agree to marry one of his challenger’s five sisters—sight unseen. Now gamblers all over London are placing bets on whether Bray will actually go through with it…

THERE GOES THE BRIDE

Miss Louisa Prim, the eldest sister, doesn’t care a whit what the reckless rogue at the Heirs’ Club promised her brother—she has no intention of marrying the future Duke of Drakestone. Bray, however, sees her rejection as another challenge. He bets that the fiery Miss Prim will not only agree to marry him, she will propose to him! With four sisters behind her, Louisa knows she can’t lose. But why does her opponent have to be a divinely handsome scoundrel? And so sweetly, irresistibly seductive…
