Damon Trahan is a werewolf Guardian. His job is to protect the pack with his life. After experiencing betrayal at different levels he wants only his Harley and the loyalty of the men he rides and works with. Love and the hurt that comes with it are not for him until he is sent on a solo mission and BY THE LIGHT OF THE MOON he finds the one for him.
Eva Renfroe is a bartender enjoying her simple life. As the daughter of a military general she has had enough alpha males trying to run her life. She is enjoying her independence until she is kidnapped. Her rescuer is an alpha male, a bossy pain in the butt, exactly the kind of man she doesn't want in her life. So what if he's drop dead hot ... he's also crazy talking about being a werewolf and her kidnappers being ones too. Then top it all off he says she's a werewolf. When he shifts in front of her Eva knows there really are things that she needs to learn and quickly.
On the run neither can ignore the hot passion that flares between them, but Damon knows it can't last. She's too important to the future of the packs to be mated to an orphaned Guardian.
BY THE LIGHT OF THE MOON is action from the first line and doesn't stop until the last one. Ava and Damon are amazing together and the sexual tension between them will suck you in and keep you reading to see who will win the battle of dominance. I loved the secondary characters they all had their own quirks and personalities that added a lot to the storyline. I especially loved Granny, a feisty old lady who says and does what she wants including embarrassing her "boys" by hosting sex toy parties. The non stop action has a number of emotional twists and turns as well as secrets coming out that change the way things are played out. There are a number of people I would love to see get their own story so I hope author Jodi Vaughn has plans for more Rise of the Arkansas Werewolves. I will definitely be in line to read them.
