Amish | Romance

Dorcus Koblentz is tired of being alone. While all the other girls are going off in buggies with boys, Dorcus fears she is never going to find a boy who will love her. She begins her new job working for Sara, who just happens to be a matchmaker! Little does Dorcus know but her parents have hired Sara to find a match for her. Dorcus is horrified. She knows she hasn't had much luck finding a husband, but to pay someone to find one is so embarrassing. A MATCH FOR ADDY by Emma Miller is a wonderful story filled with love, faith, and family. I am very surprised at how fast the story went and before I knew it, I was finished! A MATCH FOR ADDY will also introduce you to Gideon. He works as a hired hand for Sara and gives Dorcus her name Addy, which is short for her middle name, Adelaide. Gideon is also looking for his true love and isn't sure how he feels about someone else finding her for him. He will get married when HE finds the right one and not a moment sooner. His parents think it is past time for him to start a family but he won't be forced into it. He struts his stuff around the girls but has no intention of committing to anyone until he is ready. He likes Addy as a friend but wonders why she isn't married yet? What is the problem? She is not the prettiest woman he has ever known but she has a big heart . A MATCH FOR ADDY isn't the first time I've read Emma Miller and it certainly won't be the last. She has such knowledge when she writes about the Amish people. She pulls you right in and never lets you go. You feel as if you are sitting right there with them discussing their lives. You will find yourself laughing out loud as Gideon and Addy are bantering back and forth. An Amish Matchmaker? Who knew there was even such a person? Wholesome, honorable, and a faith driven story line. The characterizations were extremely faith driven, but not preachy or dictating. You were shown their love of God, family, and community in their actions and words. I can't wait to read more of this series.
