The naturals are a group of teenagers with remarkable abilities. Michael can read people's emotions, Dean and Cassie are expert profilers, Lia can tell if people are lying and Sloan knows all kinds of statistics, has an ability to measure and sense things just by seeing or feeling them, her mind is like a computer. This group of kids works for the FBI by working cold cases and solving crimes. They are only allowed to work cold cases, as they are an off the book group of teens the FBI Director keeps hidden.

That is until a murder occurs. The murder is very similar to the kills of a pervious serial killer with very close ties to the group. That killer is now in jail, but someone is out there recreating his crimes. As the murders continue, the group gets more and more involved in solving the crime and eventually one of their lives is put in danger. They use all the talents they have to bring the case to resolution in time to save lives.

KILLER INSTINCTS is an amazing story. It had me losing sleep, one I started reading I did not want to put it down. This group of teens have lead very hard lives and the talents they learned from those lives are being put to use in an exciting way. Each team member has their own demons to bear, but they put it all aside and work hard to save lives. They work together well and the adults that mentor and work with them give just the right level of balance to the story.

KILLER INSTINCT is a nonstop thriller full of great characters, a twist filled plot and a satisfying ending. Jennifer Lynn Barnes has a hit with The Natural series. KILLER INSTINCT is not to be missed.
