PRIVATE AFFAIR is edgy and intriguing, with a good splash of steamy romance. Author Rebecca York does a contemporary mystery with just the right amount of tension to keep readers in her grasp while nudging them to the unexpected finale. I loved meeting Olivia and Max and through each page got to know them as we watched them get to know each other and reconciling a past they both seemed to want to get over. It was very interesting to read about the fears that Olivia, who is now a renown model, had when she went to high school (such as being made fun of for not having the right clothes)... things most of us either went through and could understand. These are the touches that Ms. York puts in her books that make you feel what the main characters are feeling and root for them to succeed in whatever their quest might be. I also liked the security team members, Shane and Jack, who had Max and Olivia's backs through out the whole book. Having missed reading Ms. York's other Rockfort Security books Bad Nights and Betrayed I have two books to get my hands on. PRIVATE AFFAIR will have you glued to the pages and wanting more.
