Tiana, a priestess, is looking to move up within the Priestess of the Lord and the Lady. She is offered two options; one is to move to another temple, the second is to work with the architect who is building a cathedral for the religion that Tiana's family was persecuted for belonging to.
Tiana's family lost everything due to the persecution. Even though she has worked hard to put her feelings behind her, Tiana will have to deal with emotions she thought tucked away.
Antenn is an architect who is an adopted member of the Clover family. Nonetheless, he is anxious to establish himself and this commission with the Intersection of Hope will allow him to accomplish his goals.
As others work to prevent the building of the cathedral, political pressure is brought to bear by the man who ruined Tiana's family.
HEART FIRE is the book twelve in the Celta series. Ms. Owens has done a great job of keeping each one fresh. While certain themes carry through each novel and we see recurrent characters, each book has its differences.
In HEART FIRE, Ms. Owens deals with the theme of religious persecution and the emotional trauma of those who suffer it. The reader is caught up as Tiana gets a fam and discovers her heart mate.
I've read this series since the first book and look forward to each new one.
