Marine Jessie Sullivan came back from war with an honourable discharge; her body though scarred has healed, but not her psyche. She feels responsible for the death of one of her team mates but she cannot remember everything that happened on the fateful day when things went awry. She's working out like a madwoman because she wants to pass the physical to become a firefighter and get on with her life.
While at the gym of her family's resort, who would come and join her but sexy action movie star Blake Johnston. His sister is getting married in two weeks, and Jessie's mother has invited the Johnston siblings to stay over with them; Mrs. Sullivan being an old high school friend the Johnston's mother. Blake will be in Sweetbriar Springs for only two weeks before going back to Hollywood; he's attracted to Jessie and she to him, but they're positive whatever there is between them cannot go any further than a fling; neither feel ready for commitment.

Ms. Glover was a new author to me, and given the premise, I expected some light fluff, instalust, instasex; a nice little diversion. What a fantastic surprise THE MOVIE STAR'S RED HOT HOLIDAY FLING is! There is instalust, but the characters don't act on it at the drop of a hat, or sweaty gym wear, in this case. The character development is exceptionally thorough, and taking into account that it's a novella, nothing short of extraordinary!
Ms. Glover provides a lot of Jessie and Blake's backgrounds, and both are fascinating. THE MOVIE STAR'S RED HOT HOLIDAY FLING's a very quick read; it's such a great story, I just couldn't stop. The author has written a complete story within the confines of a novella, and that is most commendable.
Jessie and Blake are great characters, very sympathetic; he might be a big movie star but he's kind and caring, and Jessie's a tough woman but needs to let go of her demons and Blake is there for her. I loved how Jessie and Blake's relationship progressed: they become easy friends, and the rest ensues eventually. There's great chemistry between the two, the dialogue is brilliant, there are a few quite emotional moments, without ever being maudlin, a few sizzling and lovely sex sequences, and it's tremendously well written. THE MOVIE STAR'S RED HOT HOLIDAY FLING is a terrific read and should not be missed!
