Romance Contemporary | Holiday

Alexandra Rankin Hunt leaves for Knights Bridge, Massachusetts and the wedding of her cousin, Dylan McCaffrey. She designed, sewed and mailed the wedding dress for his bride, Olivia Frost, as well as the bridesmaids' dresses. Now she's ready to attend the wedding, make a few alterations to the bridesmaid dresses and forget Ian Mabry. Alex, an up-and-coming fashion designer in London, recently moved to Cotswold, met Ian and thought she fell in love, only to discover that he just wants a trophy for his side. Or that's the reason she decides to break all ties with him. Upon arriving in Knights Bridge at Carriage Hill Farm, Alex finds Ian already there. Could things be any worse? She's trying to forget him, but that's going to be hard to do with him staying in the same house. Can she get through this wedding and keep her heart in tack from this sexy English rake? Carla Neggers brings us a delightful Christmas novella from her Swift Valley River series. Not having read any of the books in this series, I was at a bit of a loss with relationships, but Ms. Neggers does a good job of making the connections as you go along. I'm sure the other stories in this series are just as charming. Alex and Ian are strong main characters with several supporting characters that bring a strong sense of family values and comradery to the story. It's a story about a love lost years ago and the lives that were changed because of it. CHRISTMAS AT CARRIAGE HILL is a heart-warming tale about love and misunderstanding. This novella is a great, quick evening read by the fire. There are some delicious- sounding recipes, mentioned throughout the story, that are included between chapters.

Ian Mabry, the sexy fighter pilot whose bravery reminded her of her beloved great-grandfather, was the worst yet. To Alexandra's surprise, Ian is also at Carriage Hill, Olivia's picturesque country inn. And if anyone can charm his way into a wedding, it's him. Ian wants more than an invitation—he's determined to find a way back into Alexandra's life.
