Turner and Naomi, two rockstars in different bands on the same tour, have a complicated history, one Turner doesn't even remember. Now that they are on the same tour, they can't resist being drawn to each other once again in a storm of passion, lust, anger, hatred, and something they don't expect: love. But as someone from Naomi's past starts threatening her, any relationship they might have won't matter if they aren't safe.
REAL UGLY by C.M. Stunich is a brilliant, dark, and emotional read that never lets up. It opens up a world of passionate music and real-life tough and messy love. Naomi and Turner both have so many problems and hook-ups in their lives, but somehow their chemistry is still explosive when they come together.
As much as I love the romance and realness of the story, the suspenseful element to it also kept me on my toes. Naomi is a rockstar, but the scariest people she has to watch out for aren't crazy fans or deranged groupies. Instead, they are people that she used to be close to. It builds up to a killer cliffhanger that will leave you needing the sequel as soon as possible.
C.M. Stunich has a powerful voice and a story that doesn't hold back. REAL UGLY is intense, moving, and ridiculously good. It's an excellent choice for readers who want something other than a clean cut happily ever after story and are looking for a close-up look at a romance that is nearly equal parts love and hate. I'm so glad I started this series, and I can't wait to read more!
