Second in the Minnesota Christmas series, Heidi Cullinan presents readers with Arthur Anderson, a sweet thirty- nine year old looking for love. When his roommate and lover gets angry with him because he wants more than just the fling they've been having, he makes Arthur choose -- become more serious about their relationship or he leaves. When Arthur can't come to grips with it, it leaves his lover with no choice but to leave him and this is where Arthur's mother steps in, trying to play matchmaker with all the single gay guys in their town. Since it's Christmas, Arthur cannot seem to escape his mother's reach so when he is forced to take part in the sleigh ride fundraiser, it puts him in near proximity to Gabriel Higgins, the sweet and smart librarian.
Heidi Cullinan puts two opposites together and somehow makes them work together. Neither one of them is thrilled with the idea of being together during the holidays, but somehow their non-dates turn into real dates and their friendship becomes more than that.
SLEIGH RIDE isn't very long, but this book manages to put you in a good mood no matter what. I think it's because the author just writes some really sweet characters that you cannot help but love. Cullinan infuses the story with holiday cheer, charismatic characters and a whole load of charm. What else could you want from a holiday romance?
The way to a manβs heart is on a sleigh.
Minnesota Christmas, Book 2
Arthur Anderson doesnβt want anything to do with love and
romance, and he certainly doesnβt want to play Santa in
his
motherβs library fundraising scheme. He knows full well
what
she really wants is to hook him up with the townβs lanky,
prissy librarian.
Itβs clear Gabriel Higgins doesnβt want him, eitherβas a
Santa, as a boyfriend, as anyone at all. But when Arthurβs
efforts to wiggle out of the fundraiser lead to getting to
know the man behind the storytime idol, he canβt help but
be
charmed. The least he can do is be neighborly and help
Gabriel find a few local friends.
As their fiery arguments strike hotter sparks, two men who
insist they donβt date wind up doing an awful lot of
dating.
And it looks like the sleigh they both tried not to board
could send them jingling all the way to happily ever
after.
Warning: Contains a feisty librarian, a boorish bear,
small
town politics, deer sausage, and a boy who wants a doll.
