Tracy Crosswhite's life was radically changed the night
her
sister, Sarah, disappeared. It caused her to become the
great homicide detective that she is, but it also left her
with an obsession that has completely controlled her life.
Even after 20 years, in her spare time, she still
investigates her sister's case. A man had been arrested,
charged and convicted of Sarah's kidnapping and murder
even
though her body had never been found. Until now.
Sherriff Roy Calloway has been in charge of Cedar Grove
for
years and was on duty that day in 1993 when Sarah
Crosswhite
vanished without a trace. It is a bitter victory for him
that her body has been found 20 years later. This was
supposed to have been done and over all those years ago.
Yet, it appears that it is now just beginning.
Tracy returns to her old home town of Cedar Grove to deal
with the fallout. In the process of arranging her sister's
memorial and doing some poking around, she re-connects
with
a childhood friend. Dan O'Leary has grown up quite nicely
and is now an attorney in Cedar Grove. The two of them
spend
some time getting reacquainted which leads to the decision
that Edmund House, serving time in prison all these years
for Sarah's murder, might not have done it. That means the
murderer may still be walking around free and that is too
dangerous to even contemplate.
Told in both the past and present, MY SISTER'S GRAVE takes
the reader on a roller coaster ride of mystery, murder,
secrets and lies. Tracy is quite a dedicated and
determined
character as she does everything she can to unearth the
many
misconceptions surrounding the death of her sister. Her
personality pulls you in and carries you along with every
frustrating step as she gets closer and closer to the
answers she seeks.
The emotions in MY SISTER'S GRAVE are real and you will be
hard pressed to remember that you are simply reading a
book
because you will feel so involved in the town of Cedar
Grove. The residents will be like your neighbors and
acquaintances. Written in such descriptive terms that you
can practically see the sparkling river and lush forests
that surround the town, Robert Dugoni commands the full
attention of his readers.
The mysteries are deep and the fear of danger is heart
pounding. MY SISTER'S GRAVE will be almost impossible to
put
down once you have begun the journey it presents. Only
after
reading this did I discover that MY SISTER'S GRAVE is a
sequel to another book by Dugoni. Obviously, I must get a
copy of that one also. He has created some memorable
characters that are practically three dimensional. I could
totally see myself hanging out with Tracy, which to me, is
the sign of a perfectly crafted character.
There are not enough words to describe the wonders of MY
SISTER'S GRAVE. Suffice it to say that, when you are ready
to sit down with a book that will mesmerize you from the
first page; this is the one.
