Mystery Cozy
Pepper just found out that she is out of a job. The
company
that she worked for has decided to down size. Pepper
doesn't know what she is going to do with her life.
Warren is Pepper's sister Felicity's boyfriend. Warren
wants to propose to Felicity and asked Pepper to help him
plan the best surprise for her.
Pepper jumps at the change, not only because this is her
sister, but she has a lot of time on her hands. Pepper
arrives at the airport to begin transforming a private
plane
into a time line of when Warren and Felicity's love began.
Pepper takes a side trip into the ladies room. To her
shock
she finds a dead man in one of the stalls.
The surprise goes on without a hitch, except of course the
dead body. Warren is so happy about how Pepper makes the
plane into their romance that he suggests that she start a
business. Warren offers to back her. Pepper wonders how
an accountant can possible have that kind of money. To
everyone's shock Warren is really a very rich man.
I have to say ENGAGED IN MURDER is a great book. Nancy
Parra's first in
a new series. Since this is the first one, I can't wait
to
read the next one. It has humor where you wouldn't
think
there would be. After all how can someone's death bring
humor? I don't know how but Nancy Parra did it.
Parra's description of how the main character Pepper goes
about not only getting new business, but also helps solve
a
murder is clever and fun.
The one part I found quite funny is that Pepper didn't
think
her life would go on after losing her job. ENGAGED IN
MURDER is a great
start to a new series, and I can't wait for the next one.
SUMMARY
There’s no planning for murder… Event planner Pepper Pomeroy is making the most of her
current unemployment by arranging a surprise for her sister,
Felicity. Warren, Felicity’s boyfriend, plans to lure his
lovely lady into a private jet, propose, and whisk her away
on a romantic vacation. He just needs Pepper to handle all
the fine details in order to make it the perfect
proposal—and it is. Everything goes so well when Warren pops
the question that he suggests Pepper do this sort of thing
professionally. But before she can get her new business off the ground,
there are some disturbing questions. Like who’s the dead guy
Pepper finds in the ladies’ room of the jet hangar? Is it
possible Felicity’s high-flying fiancé has been hiding more
than the engagement ring? Pepper’s not married to the idea
of having a criminal in the family, so in order to protect
her sister, she takes off in pursuit of a killer…
