KEEP ME CLOSER is book two of the Dangerous Tides Series from Rhyannon Byrd. This series is a stand along, so you don't need to read them in order. KEEP ME CLOSER is Alex and Brit's story.
Five years after the end of his marriage, Alex Hudson had closed off his heart and tried to keep the world away. His past has left him so jaded that he believes that he is better off without any romantic complications. However, when he lays eyes on a beautiful redhead, his only known defense is to be mean and push her away instead of dealing with the feelings that she stirs up in him.
Therapist Brit Cramer has seen her fair share of violence and knows how to handle it. When a former patient targets Brit, and tries to kidnap her, she finds help in the last place she ever expected...Alex. Brit has been attracted to Alex since the first time they met years ago, but Alex hasn't made it easy for anyone to be around him.
As her former patient's actions escalates showing he will stop at nothing to get to Brit, Alex moves her into his condo in order to protect her. But having her there, makes it harder for him to ignore the stirring of emotions inside of him. When evidence reveals that her home and office are no longer safe, the pair realize that their time together is running out.
I really enjoyed KEEP ME CLOSER. This year I have read few books that could suck me into the storyline and be finished in under twenty-four hours. This is one of those books.
Rhyannon Byrd's writing style has the ability to suck the reader into the story and falling in love with her characters. When Brit and Alex finally give in to their physical attraction, it is explosive. KEEP ME CLOSER is full of suspense and steamy romance. Rhyannon Byrd is a new author for me, but she will certainly be on my go to list from now on.
