When a mission gone wrong has Colonel Stafford, head of a deep-cover ops team, in a hospital bed, his first thought is the protection of his daughter Katsu. He orders his protรฉgรฉ Evan Sommers to see to her safety. The old man had no way of knowing that the Marine Corp Captain doesn't want to protect Katsu he wants to OWN her.
Four years had past since her too brief affair with Evan and Katsu has changed. She can be found in any number of bars shooting pool for money. She isn't about to obey a command from him. Not until deadly threats expose her and she finds she must depend on this man and some way ignore the sizzling dynamic that made all her college dates seem so tame.
OWN will do just that ... it will own you from the first to last page. Evan and Katsu have a past that has to be looked at and moved beyond for them to go forward and author Katie Porter does that very well.
If you are not into dominance and submission then OWN might not be for you. That said there is a lot of action and drama to this storyline besides the sexual games that I found interesting. I read to escape and to view other worlds and dom and sub is definitely another world to me. This one was well done and not ridiculously over the top, in my opinion. I also found the team members to be like a family and I am always intrigued by that dynamic. They are well diverse and put together in a way that you could see them as a team. OWN is the first book in the Command Force Alpha series so I am hoping to see more about this intriguing group.
