BRINGING MADDIE HOME grabs you right from the very first page, and never lets you go! The story starts out with Maddie waking up in a car trunk, injured and not being able to remember what happened or even who she is. She manages to escape and we pick the story up twelve years later. She is calling herself Nell Smith and still has no real memories of who she is, just some flashes of memory. She has forgotten almost everything from her past, but she does know that she can never go back. She doesn't know or remember why, but she gets terrible headaches whenever she tries to remember.

As a rookie officer, Colin McAllister found himself haunted by the disappearance of local teen Maddie Dubeau. Now a police captain, he has never given up on finding her, and when he sees her image on TV, he just knows that the woman he's seeing is Maddie. She may live under another name in Seattle, but Colin just knows that he has found the missing Maddie Dubeau and he sets out to convince her to come back to the small town of Angel Butte, Oregon. Easier said than done as he soon finds out. Nell and Colin talk on the phone and over time, she decides to trust him and meet him back in Angel Butte. She wants to know what happened to her in the past so she can move forward and get on with her life without being afraid anymore.

What a suspenseful tale of love, heartache, forgiveness, hope, secrets, and pain. The chemistry between Nell and Colin will have you turning the pages late into the night! What Nell/Maddie went through and continues to struggle with will break your heart, but have you cheering for her along the way! The twists and turns in BRINGING MADDIE HOME will make it a very fast read as you will be flipping the pages like crazy because you have to know how it ends!! Many of them, I never saw coming! I can't wait to read more by Janice Kay Johnson!
