Amanda comes from a good family. Her dad is a retired judge, debating if he wants to run for a government position. Her mom is the district attorney. Amanda never wanted to follow in her parent's choice of careers. Amanda went to school, learned how to cook and majored in business. So with these two degrees behind her, she decides to open a restaurant and named it Cold Creek. Amanda loves her restaurant and is perfectly happy to only have this in her life.
Into her restaurant and life comes Chase. Chase is a major league baseball. Chase see's Amanda and falls head over heels for her. Amanda on the other hand is not real excited to be called out by him. Chase does everything that he can think of to win Amanda over. At first she wants no part of him. However, he finally wears her down and she agrees to go on a date with him.
After the first date, Amanda realizes that she is hooked. Chase treats her like a princess yet Amanda feels something is missing. Chase has a shameful secret that he finally reveals to her. Amanda is not quite sure if she can deal with this, but after one of his kisses that hit her SWEET SPOT, she knows there is no turning back now.
SWEET SPOT is the second novel that Stephanie Evanovich has written. Have to say, I like this one better than the first one. I am not saying that I didn't like the first one, but this one was better. Evanovich has a way of writing so that I easily found myself in Amanda's life, wishing it was mine. Stephanie Evanovich added a bitof steaminess to SWEET SPOT... not too much just enough to make some people blush.
I really enjoyed the way that she made her main characters come together and though the good and the bad they made it work.
When
pro baseball player Chase Walker first meets Amanda at her
restaurant, itโs love at first sight. While Amanda canโt
help noticing the superstar with the Greek-god-build, he
doesnโt have a chance of getting to firstโor any otherโ
base
with her. A successful entrepreneur whoโs built her
business
from scratch, Amanda doesnโt need a Prince Charming to
sweep
her off her feet. And a curvy girl who likes to cook and
eat
isnโt interested in being around the catty, stick-thin
herd
of females chasing Chase and his teammates.
But
Chase
isnโt about to strike out. A man who isnโt interested in
playing the field, heโs a monogamist who wants an
independent woman like Amanda. His hopes rally when she
discovers that squeaky-clean Chase has a few sexy and very
secret pre-game rituals that turn the smart, headstrong
businesswoman onโand into his number one fan.
Then a
tabloid discovers the truth and turns their spanking good
fun into a late- night punchline. Is Amanda ready to let
loose and swing for the fences? Or will the pressure of
Chaseโs stardom force them to call it quits?
