WANTED: WILD THING is Book four in the Midnight Liaisons series by Jessica Sims. I think readers who are new to the series can still enjoy WANTED: WILD THING because Jessica Sims does a good job of explaining who everybody is in the series and their relationships. I always enjoy books in this series because they are fun and highly erotic. WANTED: WILD THING is both, with an added element of danger. The story revolves around Ryder and her changeling nature.

Ryder has a lot to deal with in this story. Even though she has friends and co-workers she cares about in her life, she has felt somewhat isolated because of her dark secret. She is a changeling -- a magical creature that appears human part of the time and scaly creature the rest of the time. She is not able to control when her scaly side comes out and it is a source of shame for her, even though she works with and is surrounded by all kinds of shifters and paranormal creatures. Her greatest wish is to stop changing from her human form.

Her situation gets a little more desperate when fae prince Finian appears. He casually informs her that she is his pet and he plans on collecting her shortly in order to breed her for profit. He leaves primordial shifter Hugh to keep an eye on his investment.

In addition to the threat that Finian presents, I think a lot of the story focuses on Ryder's conflicted feelings about herself and her difficulty in accepting her changeling form. As the story progresses, you see the evolution of how Ryder goes from thinking of her changeling form as a curse, to it being a unique and cool part of who she is.

One of the things I really like about the very unlikely romance that develops between Ryder and her unwanted protector Hugh, is that Hugh helps Ryder accept who she is -- scales, wings, horns and all. Not only does he accept her, but he's attracted to her in that form.

I wasn't sure I would like Hugh at first. When he's first introduced, it's as Ryder's keeper and ally of Finian. However, as the story goes on, you see a different side to him. He's not following Finian's orders out of blind loyalty or for monetary reasons. He does it out of loyalty to his people and a desire to help them. When they finally give in to their attraction, the sparks fly and it makes for some very steamy scenes.

I like that Hugh and the rest of the primordials are a unique kind of shifter that I haven't really seen before. The potential for great stories with some of these characters in the future has me excited.

WANTED: WILD THING is another super fun and sexy romance by Jessica Sims. This series should be on every paranormal romance fan's must-read list. I love that, while WANTED: WILD THING is exciting and full of action, the focus is on the characters and the romance. I look forward to reading more books by Jessica Sims and more in this series
